In a continuing effort to best serve the community and hold true to the ideals upon which it was founded, Market Rhes has decided to eliminate beer and replace it with wine classes, wine tastings, cheese classes, space rental, and so on and so forth. This may seem like an odd swap but per Mississippi law it makes complete sense. Don't fret, I won't be lured into my rampage regarding antiquated Mississippi wine and spirits laws that plague our state and, in my case, stifle small business and its consumers. I won't talk about the fact that, when exploring opening a wine store, I was told I could not serve cheese samples to my customers - because everyone knows serving cheese or food with wine promotes abusive drinking and leads to alcoholism, it by no means teaches a consumer the art of combining food with drink in return creating an appreciation for taste and cutting down on drinking beyond one's limit. I will not get into the laws keeping wine out of grocery stores, or possibly even a small allotment of wine to avoid damaging the sales of liquor stores, for the same reason I mentioned above. No, I will not be lured into the politics of healthy drinking practices and the Mississippi laws that refute them, instead I will simply inform you that all the beer in the store is now 20% off. Thank you and Goodnight.
